Eleanor Ide Shimo, 97, of Volant where she resided with her granddaughter Sandra and formerly of Parker passed away January 15, 2017 at Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh surrounded by her family.
Eleanor was born May 1, 1919 in New Port, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of Thomas and Katherine Hall.
Eleanor received her education in New Hampshire, After college she was a professor at City University of New York for 25 years where she taught textile.
Eleanor was first married to Edwin Nelson who passed away in 1969. She then married to Emil R. Shimo he passed away on 2003.
Loved ones left to cherish Eleanor memory are her children, grandchildren and great grand children. A brother survives Tommy Hall of New Hampshire.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband's and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Family will welcome friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 10-noon. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at noon with the Rev Kenneth Hughes officiating from the Barkeyville Methodist Church.
Internment will take place at the East Unity Cemetery
