Harry L. Bachman, 79, of Pearl formerly of Butler passed away peacefully October 9, 2016 at Grove City Medical Center.

Harry was born at home on December 25, 1936, a Christmas baby, in Herman, Summit Township Butler County to Otto A. Bachman and Florence A.  Trimbur Bachman. 

Harry graduated from Butler High School.  Harry served his county during peacetime in the Army.  He was a 101st Airborne Paratrooper and was honorable discharge in February, 1962.   He received the Good Conduct Medal and the Parachutist Badge. 

Harry was married to Linda Miller on May 7, 1981, she survives of Pearl.  

Harry was  a member of the Parker City Allegheny Valley #521 FAM Lodge, he recently received his 50 year pin.  Linda and Harry owned and operated Homewood Garage in Butler for many years.  In the shop Harry worked on cars and trucks and had a gas station there as well.  He had a small fleet of trucks that hauled steel throughout the area.  His love of working with his hands carried on long after retirement.   He enjoyed wood working  and he could be found working in the garage on something.   He was a kind spirited man who  was always eager to help with others projects as well.  He was a man his nephews looked up to.  Harry and his family enjoyed many canoe trips and boating trips, he was very fond of the water. 

Harry is survived by his wife Linda of Pearl;  a brother Glen Bachman and his wife Joan of Butler; a sister Eileen Shearer and her husband Merle of Freeport and Numerous nieces and nephews left to cherish Harry's memory. 

Harry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Jean Cratty.

At Harry's request there will be no viewing, The Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, Clintonville is in charge of the arrangements.
