Molly A. Coursen Attinger, 56, of Franklin formerly of Barkeyville passed away September 1, 2016 at her sister's home, with her family by her side, after a battle with liver cancer.

Molly was born October 1, 1959 in Linesville, she was the daughter of the late William Smith and Robert and Martha Schleifer.

Molly attended Franklin High School and Venango Vo-tech.  Molly was first married to Rich L. Coursen on February 12, 1977, he preceded her in  death on December 6, 1995.  Molly married Douglas E. Attinger on October 29, 2010 and he survives.

Molly was a waitress at local restaurants for years and she was very dedicated employee and member of the Franklin Moose Lodge #83 and also was a member of the women of the Moore Chapter #669.  She enjoyed camping with her family, helping others, and traveling with her husband Doug. 

Molly is survived by her husband Doug of Franklin, her children Joe Coursen and his girlfriend Jessie Smith of Clintonville, Cindy Knox and her husband Rick of Polk, Wendy Crissman and her husband Josh of Clintonville, Stacy Rager and her husband Eric of North Huntington.  Molly's  grandchildren Trinity Coursen, Kylie and Loren Knox, Gage Moffitt, Caleb Crissman and Brooke Rager.  Her mother in law Margo Attinger and her friend Dick of Belle Fonte.  Also surviving are her siblings;  Nancy Klingensmith and her husband Rich of Slippery Rock, Bettie Smith of Slippery Rock, Chris Schleifer and his wife Kathy of Fairfield Ohio,  John Schleifer of Polk, Rob Schleifer and his wife Darlene of Polk, Mike Schleifer and his wife Faith of Franklin, Sister Mary Madaline Schleifer of Pittsburgh, Paula Potter and her husband Bruce of Grove City, a special niece Heather Klingensmith, her lifelong best friend Cindy Wolfe Hammer of Texas and many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to Molly's parents and first husband Rich she was preceded in death by her brother C . Linn Smith.

Family will receive friends Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street , Clintonville from 2-4 and 7-9.  Funeral services will take place at the funeral home Sunday September 4,  at 1:00 pm with Pastor Heidi Mikulin officiating.

Internment will take place at the Barkeyville Cemetery. 

The family suggest the memorials be sent to Crawford Hospice at 464 Pine Street Meadville PA 16335 or a hospice of one's choice in memory of Molly Attinger.
