Alice F. Owens, 72 of Kennerdell passed away February 18, 2019 at UPMC Northwest surrounded by her loving family.
Alice was born in Warren Ohio on December 9, 1946, she was the daughter of Robert and Cora “Darlene” Holbrook.
Alice attended Niles-McKinley High School. Alice married the Robert C. Owens on December 22, 1962. Together the couple had 6 children and celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Alice retired from Polk Center as a supervisor after 27 years, during this time she became very close with her residents and staff there. Prior to working at Polk she was employed at Venango Manor as a nurse's aide. Helping and taking care of people was Alice's true calling. She loved to bring her family together for a good meal. She was truly the glue that held them together. She enjoyed a good book and kept busy playing games on Facebook and kept in touch with everyone. Alice was an avid Days of Our Lives watcher. She loved to pinch and boss people around. Alice was a Pittsburgh Penguins, Steelers, and Pirates fan through and through. To honor Alice the family would like everyone to dress in their favorite Pittsburgh team apparel for her visitation and funeral.
Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her husband Robert C. Owens of Kennerdell, her children Tina Pegg of Kennerdell, Malissa Owens of Kennerdell, Ladona Strouse and her husband Doug of Clintonville and Michael Owens and his girlfriend of Ashlee of Kennerdell. Her grandchildren Sandy, Joshua, Nikki, Justin, Tanesha, Shawna, Brandi, Kyle, Jessica, Wayne, Cassidy, Raena, Zane and Oreo her favorite grand dog who she loved to watch. Numerous great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Alice's sister Lisa Holbrook of Illinois and her brother Fred Holbrook of Ohio. Alice’s two Aunts Shelby and Juanita and many cousins.
Alice was welcomed into heaven by her parents, sons Robin L. and Robert "Bobby" M. Owens, her grandson Andrew, her step mother Bernie Holbrook, brothers James "Butch" and John “Johnny Jo” Holbrook and a sister Roberta "Bobbie" Williams and a nephew Donnie.
Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 1-3 and 4-7. Funeral Services will take place at the funeral home at 7:00 pm with Pastor Sam Stebbins officiating from Sinner's Sanctuary.
The family suggest donations be made to the funeral home to help with burial expenses.
