Donald J. Craig, 85, of Boyers, PA passed away October 6, 2017 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Mr. Craig was born September 10, 1932 near Murrinsville, Butler County, he was the son of the late John M. Craig and Irene A. Bell Craig. He attended Grove City High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era. 

Mr. Craig married Carol A. "Kit" Lynch on October 6, 1956. They were married 51 years and inseparable, until Kit passed away in November 2007.

Mr. Craig worked on the maintenance staff at Grove City College, supervising the facility’s power plant operation. He retired from Grove City College in 1995 after 32 years’ service.

Mr. Craig was a lifetime member of the Boyers United Methodist Church. He was a church officer and sometime handyman and bookkeeper for the church.  He and his wife were active in the church and the community, including working with the Meals on Wheels program and the church-based thrift store.

Mr. Craig was a member and former Past Master of the F & AM Masonic Lodge of Grove City #603, and a member of American Legion post 243 in West Sunbury.  He served for many years on the Moniteau Ceremonial Squad. Mr. Craig loved animals, especially cats and dogs, enjoyed golfing, and became an avid and accomplished wood worker and furniture builder, until his eyesight began to fail him.  Mr. Craig was universally loved and respected as a kind man who served his community and lent a hand where ever was needed.   

He is survived by his son Timothy D. Craig and his wife Brenda of Suffolk, Virginia, and older sister Erla Ferringer of Franklin, and brothers Alfred "Lanny" Craig and his wife Vera of Grove City and Leslie "Ike" Craig and his wife Joyce of New Castle.  A sister in law, Naomi Craig of Butler, and brother in law David Lynch and his wife Velma of Grove City, also survive.  Mr. Craig has a large extended family with many nieces and nephews who also survive. 

Mr. Craig is preceded in death by his wife Kit, brothers William and Robert Craig, sister Lizzie Gladd, brother in laws LeRoy Ferringer, Clair Gladd and Dean Bollinger and sister in laws Carol & Gwendolyn Craig and Opal Bollinger.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will take place at the funeral home, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 11:00 am with Pastor Bob Schmitt from the Boyers United Methodist Church officiating.  

Interment will take place at the Clintonville Methodist Cemetery.

The family suggest is lieu of flowers memorial donations be sent to the Boyers United Methodist Church.
