Dave was born April 27, 1944, in Sugarcreek Township. He was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Connor) Pryer.

Dave graduated from Franklin High School. Upon graduating from high school, he started his employment at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company (CPT). He enlisted into the US Army and obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant. When Dave returned home from the service, he continued his employment with CPT in Franklin. Dave retired in 2010 after 48 years of service.

Dave was a member of the Butler Area Radio Flying Society. He enjoyed building, flying, and rebuilding many radio-controlled airplanes. He was very handy with tools and helped his family with several large building projects. He was a good mentor and teacher. In his younger years, Dave was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to be in the woods and enjoyed hunting deer on the family property. He also enjoyed collecting Farmall tractors.

Loved ones to cherish his memory are his wife, Judith of Polk, daughters Dee McLaughlin and her husband David of Harborcreek and Wendy Pryer, and her partner Matthew Stewart of Meadville. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Rachel McLaughlin of Middletown, Connecticut, and Aidan McLaughlin of Harborcreek.
