Helen Rankin, 87, of Kennerdell passed away April 7, 2026 at the Caring Place in Franklin.
Helen was born April 14, 1938 in Olean New York, she was daughter of the late Ellis and Edith (Williams) Griffin.
Helen graduated from Victory Joint School and furthered her education to become a Registered Nurse.
She was married to Paul Rankin on July 12, 1958, he passed away on September 14, 2014. Together the couple had four children.
Helen retired from Sugarcreek Station after 47 years of service as a Registered Nurse. She loved spending time with her family, especially in earlier years whenever the whole family could get together. Her family will treasure the many items that she crocheted for them. Helen liked a good crossword and sudoku puzzle. Helen was a faithful member of the Rankin Chapel Church.
Loved ones to cherish Helen’s memory are her children Kris Lingenfelter and husband Jim, Tammy Slater and husband Dave and Kevin Rankin and wife Valerie. Daughter in law Pauline Rankin, Brother Robert Griffin and wife Nancy, Sister Martha Dicks, her 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren also survive, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was welcomed into heaven by her parents, husband, son Bruce Rankin, her in laws Nelson and Laura Rankin and her two grand daughters Sara Slater and Abigail Albert.
Family will welcome friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 2:00 till 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at noon with Pastor Chuck Patterson officiating from Rankin Chapel Church.
Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park.
