Kathryn L. Montgomery, 66 of Grove City passed away January 12, 2024 at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Kathy was born December 6, 1957 in Cowen, West Virginia. Kathy was the daughter of the late Frank and Evelyn Knight Bennett.
Kathy married Robert Montgomery July 1, 2023, he survives.
Kathy worked for many years as a home health aide and most recently was the owner of Nacho Mama’s Tacos Food Truck. Kathy loved to be with her family, especially her grandbabies and cooking a wonderful meal for them. She looked forward to camping trips. Kathy was happiest gardening with her dog running around. She lived to take care of others. Kathy was a life long Cleveland Browns fan.
Loved ones to cherish her memory is her husband Robert of Grove City, her children David and Jen Freed of Volant, Bobbie Jo and Jeremy Tidd of Polk, Amy and Jason Thompson of Slippery Rock, her step kids Heath and Casey Montgomery of Berlin, Brett and Jess Montgomery of Chambersburg and Nicole Montgomery and her companion Jared Rhoads of Summerset. Kathy’s brothers Freeman Bennett of West Virginia, Larry Bennett of Ohio and Lester Bennett of Volant. Kathy’s sister Violet Carpenter of Ohio. Kathy’s grandchildren Kaitlyn and Olivia Freed, Leslie Newburn, Bobby Waite, Arthur Newburn, Kelsey Sullivan, Zack Thompson and Shane Thompson. Kathy’s step grandchildren Caden, Conner, Devin, Abigail and Seth Montgomery, Ava Rush and Cash Tinkey. Great grandchildren Bronson Waite and Evelyn Newburn.
Kathy was welcomed into heaven by her parents Frank and Evelyn Bennett, her brother Delmas Bennett, sisters Patty Showalter, Sue Martin and Frances Holmes.
Kathy’s family will be hosting a celebration of Kathy’s life Thursday, January 18th at 2:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Baptist Church, 302 Harmony Road, Slippery Rock PA. They suggest in lieu of flowers memorial donations in Kathy’s honor be sent to the Stanley Snyder VFW Post 7465, 1470 Brent Road, Volant PA 16156 and also to Crossroads Baptist Church.
