Larry Surrena Obituary

Larry Surrena, 65, of Harrisville passed away February 1, 2023 at Health Specialty Hospital at Heritage Valley, Beaver PA.

Larry was born May 2, 1957 in Grove City.  He was the son of the late Oatis Surrena Jr and Anna Elizabeth Roxberry Surrena.

Larry attended  Grove City High School.  He married Darlene Coon on July 12, 1975.  Together the couple had 3 children, Larry Jr, Clinton and  Joy Anna.

Larry had previously worked at Mercer Forge, doing anything that was asked of him.  He would run cranes one day and work on motors the next.  Larry’s true talent was working on and restore classic cars.  He was a mastermind when it came to the whole process.  He could fix anything with wheels.  He kept busy by constantly tinkering in the garage with his projects or a neighbor’s car.  He was well known for his talent and engineering of cars.  Larry and Darlene loved to take rides on his Harley and didn’t pass up a nice day for a ride.  He was avid hunter and fisherman when his health permitted.   Larry never missed a chance to head to a car show.  Above all Larry loved to spend time with his family.  His family will treasure the things have learned from him.

Loved ones to cherish his memory is his wife Darlene Surrena of Harrisville, his sons Larry Surrena Jr and his wife Alana of Berea Kentucky and Clinton Surrena and his wife Jamie of Harrisville. Larry’s brother Robert Surrena and his wife Vicky of Grove City and his beloved grandchildren Brianna of Kentucky and Kylee of Harrisville.

Preceded in death by his parents Oatis and Anna Surrena, his daughter Joy Anna Surrena, his brother Lewis Surrena and a granddaughter.

The Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, Clintonville, is assisting the family with arrangements. A memorial service will take place at the family convenience.
