Milford “Gene” Cross, 92, of Eau Claire, passed away December 25, 2023.
Gene was born May 15, 1931 in Barbour West Virginia. He was the son of the late Oliceo and Gertrude Gall Cross.
He retired from Bracken Construction as welder and machinist. He also drove bus for Campbell Bus Lines for over 20 years.
Gene was married to Barbara Sellers for 55 years prior to her passing on November 2, 2022.
Gene enjoyed growing a beautiful garden and canning with his wife Barbara. He looked forward to spending time with his family. If you knew Gene you know he always had a joke or a good story to tell you. Gene was past member of the Parker Allegheny St. Petersburg Masonic Lodge #521. He entered the lodge in 1978.
Loved ones to cherish his memory are his bonus kids Thomas McFadden of West Virginia, Carissa Stewart and her fiancé Jason Ditty of Eau Claire and Caitlyn Householder and her husband Ryan of Ellwood City and their children. His brother-in-law Richard Sellers and his wife Missy of Eau Claire, his sister-in-law Pat Sellers of Cherry Valley, his bonus grandkids Jerrik Grove, Madison Stewart and Gracelynn Stewart and their father Derek Stewart. His niece Pam McDaniels and his nephew Keith Cross of Virginia and their children along with numerous other nieces and nephews. Along with Gene’s faithful companion his dog Jackson.
Gene was welcomed into heaven by his parents, wife, 9 brothers and sisters.
Family will welcome friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville on Thursday, December 28, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Hughes officiating. Burial will take place at Eau Claire Cemetery.
