Norma Keverline Obituary

Norma Jean Rust Keverline, 88, of Greenville, formerly of Old Rt 8 Polk, passed away September 30, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Norma was born July 22, 1931 in Mercer, she was the daughter of Harley J. Rust Sr and Catherine N. Johnson Rust.

Norma graduated from Franklin High School, Franklin Pa. She married Kenneth H. Keverline on May 12, 1956. Together the couple had three children John, Kenneth and Kathryn.

Norma worked as a teacher’s aide for the Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 out of Clarion. She enjoyed traveling to South Carolina during the winter months to spend time with her family and visiting other relatives and friends in the local area. She was always cheerful, compassionate, and a pleasure to be around, making friends with everyone she met.  One of her greatest joys was faithfully reading her Bible and doing her daily devotionals.

Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her children John E. Keverline and his wife Donna of Aiken, South Carolina, LtCol (USMC) Kenneth W. Keverline and his wife Teresa of Chapin, South Carolina, and Dr. Kathryn Frantz and her husband Raymond of Greenville, PA; her grandchildren Tiffany Stanley and her husband Anand, Holly Smith and her husband Trey, Amanda Ballard and her husband William, Brooke Harmon and her husband Kevin, Anna Slade and her husband Ben, and Jacob Frantz; and Norma’s great grandchildren Trey T. Smith, Michael A. Smith, Patrick R. Smith, Ashton C. Smith, Zach Stanley, Kenny Stanley, Anya Stanley, William Ballard III, Molly Ballard, Henry Ballard, Oliver Ballard, Taylor Harmon, Abigail Harmon, Lydia Grace Slade, Caroline Slade and Emily Slade.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth who passed away February 16, 2015, her sisters Margaret J. Soboleski, Edith L. Rust, and Virginia L. Barker and her brothers Harley J. “Jug” Rust Jr., Stanley W. “Jim” Rust, Kenneth E. Rust, Fredrick Rust.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville PA on Friday, October 4, 2019 from 5-8. Funeral services will take place at Pleasantview United Methodist Church, Old Route 8, Polk, Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:00 am with an hour of visitation prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made in Norma J. Keverline’s memory to Grove City College, Thiel College or the Pleasantview United Methodist Church.
