Valerie Jean Sayers, 65, of Cooperstown, passed away peacefully at her home, June 26, 2025, with her loving husband by her side.
Valerie was born August 9, 1959 in Xenia, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Robert C. Fike and Mary Louise (Sutton) Birchard.
Valerie married Kenneth Larry Sayers on December 31, 1979, he survives.
Valerie graduated from Rocky Grove High School. She retired from at Polk Center as an RSA. She had previously worked at Riverside Market in Franklin and at the Oil City Hospital.
Valerie was a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 1835 in Franklin. She didn’t pass up a trip to play bingo or to go gambling. She loved to winter in Florida and travel with her family and friends. Valerie was the most caring and generous soul there was. She loved her family deeply and will be dearly missed.
Loved ones to cherish her memory are her husband Larry of Cooperstown, her children David M. Fike of Franklin, Lindi M. Shook and her husband Dave of Oil City, Laura L. Nelson and her partner Bob Miller of Franklin and Rachel R. Everhart of Franklin. Her sister Michelle Combs of Franklin, her 2 brothers Raymond Fike Sr. and his wife Kim of Franklin and Ronald Fike and his wife Patty of Franklin. Her beloved grandchildren; Matthew Heath, Shane Heath, Kaden Nelson, Kylie Nelson, Kennan Miller, Tyler Everhart, Gaige Everhart, Branden Fike, Valeries 2 great grandsons Carson Goodman and Atticus Fike.
Valerie was proceeded in death by her parents, her grandmother E. Elizabeth Foote and her in laws Wilburt and Wanda Sayers.
A celebration of Valerie’s life will take place on July 12, 2025 at the Cooperstown Community Church of God, 1651 PA-427, Cooperstown PA 16317. The service will start at 1:00 p.m. with a time for fellowship after the service.
