My sincere sympathy to Bernard and all of Shirley's family.
I first met Shirley at the bus garage. What I remember was Shirley was always color coordinated from her earrings to her tennis shoes.
We had many a good talks and laughter especially at the Christmas Parties and Lite Up Night at the Franklin Parade which Shirley always participated in. One year we even had her granddaughter Haley being a Jack in the Box and Shirley did the winding as Haley jumped out of the box. We won first place .
Shirley loved to drive bus and was a good driver. She acquired the nickname of Squirlley Shirley given to her by the late Don Collins who was head of Transportation at that time.
Shirley loved her family and was so proud of her grandchildren.
In our talks she would say it was scarey because both our lives seemed so much alike.
I have really missed her these last few years as she always had a smile on her face every morning as she came to work. and would come in and chat with me after the bus run.
May it comfort her family to remember she is at peace and walking the Lord.
God's Blessings upon all of her family.
Love ,
Alma Atkison

I am so sorry for your loss Shirley was a very caring and loving person. I enjoyed working with her at different things the church would have. I also just remember going into the church when Bernard would be painting or just fixing something and just setting and visiting with her. May God wrap his arms around the family at this time a give the strength to get through the days ahead. God Bless
